An msn or Skype chat can last up to twenty minutes.  It can take the form of a conversation in the foreign language, or in English regarding issues with the foreign language.

                                                                          Emailing can be used as a way of corresponding, with feedback and corrections, for example on a book you have read or on general topics as you might to a friend.  

I t may may also be used to email in exercises you have done, for feedback and correction.  You could also clarify any points which have arisen from Skype lessons.
